What a Boost!

We have had 2 $5000 contributions for 2009 for our Anamoose Area Community Foundation.  The first was from Michelle (Micki) Pyszkowski, Chicago, IL.  She is the Director of Enrollment Services for Argosy University.  Micki is the daughter of Stan & Norma Martin.  She sent along a note that I thought was very moving:  “I’d like to thank the Anamoose Community for all they did for me while I was growing up.  From my education to summer recreation programs.  I owe a lot to this little community.  Thank you and stay strong Anamoose.”

The second $5000 contribution was from The Arthur Companies, (Pictured is Rick Burgum, president).  I was amazed at all that is included in The Arthus Co.  in our area.  The Arthur Company started in Arthur, ND, but in 1981 they purchased the Harvey Farmers Union Elevator & built the Prairie Towers facility east of Harvey that handles all the grains & the fertilizer/chemical plant & seed department.  In 1990 the SkyBird Seed Co. was added.  They also have a Feed Plant west of Main St. that custom designs feed to fit the individual livestock needs.

In 2001 they purchased the Anamoose Elevator from Cargil.  Anamoose handles wheat, sunflowers, barley, flax & canola, & provides fertilizer, custom application, chemical distribution & seed sales.  It is great to see all the grain trucks hauling in grain in the fall-& the rest of the year too.
