A Busy Monday in Anamoose

candisc.jpgYesterday started out with 408 CANDISC (Cycling Around ND in Sakakawea Country) riders going through Anamoose before 9am. This is their second day of their tour as they went from Drake to Minnewaukan.  They went 69 miles on Monday, & a total of 426 miles in 7 days.

sr-citizens-mtg.jpgbuck-a-big-winner.jpgAfter a noon meal at the Senior Center, a woman from the Pioneer Daughters organization of Towner spoke on burial places in McHenry Co.  There are about 77 in our county!  Next was bingo & a Sr Citizen meeting.  I took “Buck” Buchholz picture as he was late & only played 3 games of Bingo, but won twice, & his wife, Janice, won the last game.  Talk about luck!

finishing-the-quilt.jpgAfter the Sr. Citizens meeting 3 of us  finished off  the raffle quilt.  Pictured are:  Arla Vannett, Angie Kesler, & myself.  The quilt will be raffled off Sunday, Sept. 20th  at a Waffle dinner.

At 4pm the VFE Auxillary had a planning meeting for a brunch on Sunday, August 16th at 9:30am-12:30pm.

market-in-park11.jpgeating-hamburgers.jpgAt 6pm the Market in the Park had a good crowd.  Connie Rudnick (Anamoose Cafe/Bakery) said she sold 150 hamburgers.  She & Mike will continue to sell $1 hamburgers every Monday in August.  Woody Selzler gave rides to kids and 1 grandma (Bonnie Dockter) with his tractor & wagon.

At 7 pm the women’s softball team played Drake at the ball park.

aacf-mtg.jpgAt 8 pm we had a meeting of our Anamoose Area Community Foundation to plan for the Corn Food/ Auction.

Those are the things I know of.  There were probably many other things going on too.
