Anamoose Civic Club Activities

The Anamoose Civic Club has projects throughout the year.  In the summer they sponsor the summer recreation program. Brad Fletschock, Doreen Hilzendeger, & Larry Clark were coaches for T-ball, Pony Ball & Midgets groups this past summer.

On August 18th, ACC sponsored the annual Demolition Derby which they have done for more than 30 years.  Cash prizes awarded totaled $2500.  After the Derby a large crowd enjoyed a street dance & music by the group “8th Hour”.

“Welcome to Anamoose” signs were purchased & placed in 3 locations around Anamoose-east on Highway 52, south on Highway 14, & north of Anamoose.

A new digital sign for community events has been purchased & placed in front of the First State Bank-Anamoose Branch &will soon be wired for service, enabling multiple community events to be posted at the same time.

The Civic Club had another successful year with gaming proceeds & were able to award grants this year to the Anamoose Area Community Foundation, Park Board, Fire Department, Tri-County Senior Meals, & sidewalk paving.

The monthly community calendar is sponsored by the Civic Club.  Norma Martin collects the information & the calendar is placed in 5 businesses where locals can pick it up.

Orange lights wrap the light poles on Main Street & 2 scarecrows placed in front of the Senior Center & VFW greet everyone.

A date has not yet been confirmed for Santa Claus Day.

There are plans in the making to sponsor a social activity this winter with new Anamoose residents & potential new members.
