The Anamoose Senior Center was buzzing with activity on Tuesday, September 15, 2015.  The Region II Council on Aging held their business meeting in Anamoose.  Good information was  imparted throughout the day, frosted with some humor, along with prizes and a wonderful meal served by the Senior Center.  Kudos Kathy Rademacher!

crowd at Reg 11 meetingThe day started at 9:30 with registration and refreshments.  The room filled with people traveling from other counties, everyone finding the best seating for the program to come.  Bill Goodwin welcomed everyone and turned the podium over to President Chuck Duke, who called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance and the group singing America.

The Director’s Reports were interesting and informative as each of the directors came to the podium to relay the importance of the connection and communication of senior citizens with services available and with each other.

Eleanore DossenkoAfter all the serious information imparted to all of us, Eleanor Dossenko, local humorist, stepped up to the podium.  She kept us seniors chuckling as she shared some of her history with a smile and her friend Matilda, a 3-foot doll used in her humor.  While there were many laughs, Eleanor has a wonderful talent of weaving very important senior information into her humor.  The theme was caring communication to family and community.  It was an awesome performance!

As business was coming to a close, the wonderful aroma of the noon meal was wafting through the air.  A menu of Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Sweet Carrots, Salad, Strawberries and angel cake with whipped topping!  Oh so good!!!

Francis SeefeltAfter dinner was finished and all were feeling just a little like napping, Ron Cartwright stepped up with some of his favorite jokes and humor before introducing Francis Seefeld to entertain us with his accordion.  Many toes were tapping to the “oldtime” music.  I even heard several people say, “I feel like getting up and dancing!”

The next Reigon II meeting will be Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Minot.
